Find Out What Action We Are Taking To Protect Our Teams And Colleagues…
· Hand Washing Facilities Provided
Hand sanitising stations will be provided in all stores. Sinks for hand washing will be provided for both customers and beauty advisers where available. Clear signage will be displayed to remind everyone to wash or sanitise their hands on a regular basis. If washing hands, this should be done with soap and water and disposable paper towels should be used to dry hands. Store Managers will ensure that all colleagues follow the correct hand washing procedures with the support of Regional Managers and Retail Operations.
· Enhanced Cleaning
Regular touch points will be frequently cleaned and disinfected. These areas include: door handles, light switches, push plates, cash desk, display surfaces, table tops and protective screens. Where possible, if it will not compromise internal security or fire safety, doors will remain open to avoid unnecessary touch points. We have introduced small bin liners in all shop floor bins to ensure the safe disposal of cleaning products, disposable applicators, tissues and hand towels etc. Colleagues have also been supplied with disposable gloves for use while cleaning and emptying bins.
· Social Distancing Guidance
Additional measures have been put in place to help colleagues follow 2m social distancing guidance. This includes adjusting store opening times, adapting consultation offerings in-store, reducing the number of people in any work area and staying up-to-date with the latest government advice on the provision of personal protective equipment including masks and gloves. Split screens will also help protect colleagues while operating the till.
· If Any Colleagues Are Unwell Or Have Symptoms
Following government guidance, colleagues who become unwell or show COVID-19 symptoms will be sent home to self-isolate. If a colleague has tested positive for COVID-19, the store will close for a deep clean. Once the store has been safely deep cleaned team members will be able to return to work as long as they are not showing symptoms. A return to work risk assessment will be completed by Store Managers or another suitable line manager. We will help support our teams by staying in close contact and providing regular updates on the latest government guidance.
· Colleague Welfare
We will offer mental health support to any colleague affected by COVID-19. We also share regular email updates with our teams to make sure they are aware of the support available through our partnership with wellbeing charity retailTRUST.
